The San Joaquin Farm Bureau Foundation for Agricultural Education in a non-profit, charitable organization founded in 1989 by the San Joaquin Farm Bureau Federation in an effort to preserve the success of agriculture in San Joaquin County through education.   Working with schools, community groups and other associations, the Foundation provides resources and guidance to those involved in agricultural education.

The specific purposes of the Foundation are to collect donations dedicated to educational purposes in order to provide financial support for the development and understanding of teaching agriculture in the classroom at the elementary, secondary, and post-secondary levels, as well as fund activities aimed at improving the overall understanding of agriculture.  This is accomplished by educating students about the role of agriculture in the California economy, training teachers to present lessons in agriculture in the classroom, providing students direct contact with farm animals and representatives of agriculture, encouraging adequate textbook coverage of agriculture, and promoting better classroom instruction and student understanding of the role of agriculture.  The Foundation also provides scholarships to students enrolled in agriculture at a community college or four-year college or university.

The SJFB Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that seeks to improve agriculture literacy in our region.
